An Elegant and Minimal Succah Feels Like A Palace!

Succah Elegant 2008

These are photos of my Succah last year. Quite different from the colorful and ethnic Succah I showed you yesterday, and refreshingly simple yet elegant.  Two Moroccan lanterns wired with warm flourescent bulbs, sheer gold-striped fabric hung in strips between the rafters and a few other decorative touches make a minimal yet complete Succah.

Yes, to be fair,I do have the distinct advantage of possessing the ideal Succah for a look like this: a small courtyard enclosed by four tall walls. But if your Succah is enclosed with Succah boards or panels, so why not paint them creme?

And don’t forget to complete your look with a beautiful tablecloth and interesting centerpiece, and take photos to share with me!

I’m loving your many different styles of sukkah decor. For now, my children and their projects determine how the sukkah looks (very cute and eclectic). But I always enjoy the eye candy of themed, uniform decor. Thank you.

It’s definately much more important to make your kids feel good than worrying about having an elegant Succah,
but it is possible to combine the two. It just occured to me that their artwork could be framed in gold cardboard frames with ornate silhouettes, and then hung gallery style, either lined up grid like, or scattered about in a creative way. I think Ill try that too!
