Crochet A Fun Sachet or Make A Cute Baby Mobile!

Crocheted flower Sachet

Spring cleaning season has arrived in my home, with Pesach (Passover) just one month away! I hope to spend this month scrubbing and organizing my home from top to bottom (as much as possible) in spiritual and actual physical preparation for the important week-long holiday in which we re-live our experience as Jews in Egypt as well as our miraculous exodus from slavery!

That said who wouldn’t want to fill their newly organized and clean closet with a cute sachet like this? They’re quick to make and just so sweet, you’ll want to make a whole bouquet, or even a mobile for a baby or cute decoration for a child’s room. Mine are currently hanging from knobs in my laundry area, but who knows where they’ll actually end up!

How To:

Follow the instructions for the flower from this link over at favecrafts.com. The instructions are a bit confusing so don’t get discouraged! Important note: I added an additional row to the flower by crocheting one row all the way around the entire flower after the five petals had been made. In the flower above, that is the creme row. Then I crocheted the front and back flowers together, per the instructions, which is the aqua row.

If you’d like to make a sachet, fill a white stocking or small cheesecloth sack with the potpourri or dried herbs of your choice, and place in the middle of the flower while you are stuffing it. I stuffed these flowers with laundered white tights who had seen better days (my daughter’s) and do recommend stuffing with something whose color won’t be noticeable through the holes of the crochet. White stuffing of some kind is probably the best choice in most cases.

I hope you’ll enjoy this project and do drop me a line if you need any help! These would be great gifts to have on hand anytime don’t you think?

Thanks Megan! Now that youre learning to crochet, there are so many amazing things to make! If you make these just take note of my adjustments to the pattern, which is a bit difficult to understand. And stay tuned for lots more crochet projects coming up this summer!
