A Tzimmer Near The Sea! (A Quaint Cabin North Of Nahariya)

  Nayariha-Lemen-Cabins

Tzimmer means room in Yiddish, but in vernacular Hebrew it’s more like a bed and breakfast, often without the breakfast. Northern Israel is ideal for those seeking to “get away” and there are many many tzimmers dotting the gorgeous rolling hills. On our trip to Nahariya (here) which I told you about last week, we stayed in a rustic tzimmer on a the Lemen yeshuv (farming community) just north of Nahariya. I though you might like a little glimpse of our tropical/woodsy getaway, envision Hawaii meets Bavaria!

Nahariya Lemen roses

Vases filled with fresh cut roses from the garden! (I’m dreaming of my own cutting garden….alack, alas)

Nahariya Lemen woody surround
Glass bells…….

Nahariya Lemen Cabin + Bananas
Outdoor dining, amidst banana trees…….

Nahariya Lemen Hibiscus + Jacaranda blooms
Hibiscus growing on bushes…..Jacaranda in bloom……

Nahariya Lemen Tractor
Wood scrap craft and authentic farm equipment…..

Nahariya Lemen Jacaranda + passion fruit
More Jacaranda in bloom, I just love Jacaranda can you tell? And passion fruit growing wild on hedges.
And lots and lots of bananas, and more bananas, everywhere. Apparently they do well in this lovely spot by the sea. I think I could do quite well here too!

My husband and I have dreamed of a trip to Israel since we were first married (1973). Now we’re planning it seriously, when he retires in a couple of years. Your photos are so beautiful and these dwellings so charming that we’ll have to include this area in our journey.

where is this exactly? i’m looking for a place ‘kid friendly’ walking distance from beach…?

Hi Adina, Its a Yishuv called Lemen, between Rosh HaNikra and Nahariya. Its pretty close to the beach, but walking distance depends on how far you dont mind walking. The gate to the Yishuv is quite close to the beach, but we drove in a bit to this Tzimmer. There are quite a few Tzimmerim there, so you can certainly check out some that are closer to the main road. Enjoy!

We stayed at a Tzimmer in Rosh Pina about two years ago for my birthday! It was AMAZING! Very relaxing. We had the greatest view of the Golan Heights! Simply stunning!

I’m totally procrastinating right now. I may try the tumeric chicken for Shabbat dinner – it looks yummy. AND I also want to pickle some cucumbers.

Well, Id say if you need to procrastinate, at least do it on my blog!
