Crafts For Tisha B’Av: Last Year’s Tissue Paper Project!

Corkboard Kid's Mural with Tissue Paper Cr

In an attempt to give you at least two ideas for nice craft projects to do with the kids, either before or during Tisha B’Av, I’ve decided to re-post a project from last year. Some of you may remember it, but most of you haven’t been with me quite that long, and may not have gone through the archives, right?  Anyway, after a whole year of projects, a little look back certainly doesn’t hurt! And I just realized that I didn’t even post this for Tisha B’Av, though that was my original intention!

You can find the details for this tissue paper on cereal box cardboard project here. And to those of you will be fasting (I will), wishing you a meaningful fast!

    Hi Sara,
I just wanted to thank you for the lovely comment on my blog. Long time no see? I can´t say that 🙂 I visit your blog at least twice a week, and I always like what I find – your ideas are never ending, easy to recreate and cheap. I just didn´t participate in your linking party, because I rarely had anything good enough.
I never thought of felting a collar. You mean one to close with a button around the neck, right? It actually sounds pretty cool, and I´m allready thinking about adding some beads, to have dangling down, so, thank you very much for that idea!
And if you haven´t tried felting yet, I bet you´ll love it. You can do it with children, the materials are all enviroment-friendly, and the felted fabric has similar qualities as fleece – you don´t have to make seams 🙂
    So, see you soon,
    Helen

Thank you for the inspiration! With my children we spoke about re-building Yerushalayim and how we do that with Mitzvot. My 5 and 3yr old had such a wonderful time ‘building Yerushalayim with the colours of Mitzvot’ – e.g – my son said that Torah is compared to honey, and honey is yellow and therefore the house that he did in yellow tissue paper was the mitzvah of learning torah. They are very proud of their work – which was also a reason i give this project a thumbs up, besides the preparation they did it all themselves – we are going to hang it in their room – thank you 🙂
