The Making Of An Artist: An Eight Year Old’s First Painting!

Painting of Flowers AD

Isn’t this painting wonderful? Yes, I may be biased as the artist’s mother, but I thought I’d share it with you as inspiration for getting an early start on your own child’s art education! I recently found a wonderful art teacher that will be able to give my daughter a nice introduction to the true art of painting, and this is her first work, in just two lessons!

The inspiration was Van Gough’s sunflowers, and I just love the fact that my daughter’s teacher, Meira, isn’t telling her what to paint but rather showing her how to use the paint. That is exactly the kind of art training I would recommend for any child to help develop their creative potential as well as a love for the creative process!

Children’t art is really some of my favorite but I wouldn’t have even guessed that this the work of an eight year old. You have a little prodigy there. Love her use of colors and she already has the 1/3 feel down pat.
    Happy painting,
    Pam

Your child is definitely talented and you are a wonderful mother encouraging her artistic talents. I hope it wasn’t a once of and she continues to bring home spectacular paintings. Even if this is the best she ever does, if she’s enjoying herself, that’s all that really matters. Painting is such a lovely way to express yourself, especially if you’re a child. Thank you for sharing. Best Wishes, Lynda 🙂

Along with your daughter’s G-d given talent, she has a remarkable teacher who is impressing upon her the foundation of the finished painting which is a marvelous life lesson!
As an artist myself and a grandmother who raised my children and the time I spend with my grandchildren teaching them the foundation, they all are well prepared and understand that successfully completed areas of life begin with a good foundation.
Thank-you for sharing these works of art with us, the craft projects, the photos of Israel and also the wonderful Moroccan recipes!
I’m so glad that I found your blog!
