Draw Simple Patterns On Painted Bottles

Painted Bottles With Geometric Pen Drawings 2

Here’s a super simple way to turn painted wine bottle vases (namely the ones I wrote about here) into something a little more bold and decorative. With just a permanent black marker, we had fun applying designs and illustrations to our painted bottles. And the results really are so much fun, and perfect for a casual summer party, or even something more sophisticated if you spend the time to draw with precision.

Have a favorite geometric pattern that you’d like to see in your home? Apply it to a bottle and enjoy! So much easier than covering a wall with something that you may just tire of sooner rather than later!

Painted Bottles With Kid's Drawings

And it’s always a great creative exercise to get kids (and yourself) to draw on something three-dimensional! So paint some bottles white, or any light color, and enjoy using them as canvases for some original art!

Love these! Reminds me of those fabulous line drawing illustrations from the seventies…so cool!
Speaking of line drawings–I love the new header! Its so eclectic and friendly/funky. I have been thinking about revising my header for some time now–you have thoroughly inspired me!

Thanks so much! The bottles remind me of those drawings too! The header is still a bit of work in progress I really want to get photos of my work up there somehow, but worked so hard on the logo with a friend of mine that I just had to put it up already…….thanks for the encouragement, designing for oneself is really difficult!

if youre asking me about the paint, I used white spray paint, but would recommend using a coat of primer first. all the best!

I love these! I have quite a few bottles that I could turn into something neat. This could also work on a lamp, don’t you think?

Question, I just made a few bottles with white spray paint. How do you get them to not smell like spray paint anymore? Is there a special kind you use?

  15. Sara Rivka Avatar

Hi Steph, I didnt have that problem so sorry I cant help. I sprayed mine outside. How about giving them a little spray of some air freshener? all the best!

I have a bunch of wine bottles that I plan to wrap with cotton yarn and I also plan to spray paint them white and then put some designs or scenery on. I really enjoy painting and this will be a new outlet for me.
