Toilet Paper Tube Owls Great For A Rainy Day

Toilet paper tube owls

I love any craft using recycled toilet paper tubes, or are they toilet paper rolls? Not sure really but in any case, if you’ve been saving them (as I have) then you can whip out a few and make yourself some cute owls. I thought this would be a great starting point for a little craft project with the kids this afternoon. I find that if they see how cute the finished product can be they’ll be more likely to actually sit down and make something, whether or not their results are at all similar to mine.

I think I’ll bring out some paint, some paper, a glue stick and regular glue, some sequins maybe some feathers (if I can find some) and see what I can inspire my little ones to create. I hope to share the results with you! And if there aren’t any little ones around, so this is a great craft for big ones too….wouldn’t these look great as place cards for guests at your holiday table? Or hanging out just about anywhere? Grab a black felt pen, medium nib, and have some fun!

Of course, toilet paper roll owls are all over the place, but I was specifically inspired by this photo, to give credit where credit is due! All the best!

Impressive idea! You can use it as decorations for your room, and at the same time, you’re helping the environment to reduce the production of waste.

Hi there.:) This is my first visit to your web page, and I have to say, I love this idea. I personally think toilet paper rolls are among the most hideous objects one could stumble upon in any given household, but you have made me look at them with new eyes. Now I’m impatient to work through that toilet paper and get to the roll already.:D Thanks Sara, I’ll definitely keep an eye on your site in the future!

What a fun idea! I love this! I have 3 daughters, so we always have a lot of toilet paper rolls. PLUS-all 4 of us girls love owls. How cute would these be for halloween decor! Or even a class project for my 5th grader.
Thanks for the idea and the inspiration.

These are great! Just made an owl with my 3 year old. She liked it so much we made a cat to go with the owl and she’s now acting out The Owl and The Pussycat with her new ‘puppets’. Thanks so much for posting this! 🙂

What a great project! This is awesome and perfect for the kids! I really loved the materials you put to complete the owl features. We did a toilet paper roll snake project out of the same materials you used. You should check it out! 🙂
