A Walk Around The Block In Northern Israel!

Walk Around the block

It is now officially vacation time for the whole country here in Israel, and while my daughter has two months of vacation my little boys only have three weeks, eight days of which are actually spent at half-day day camp at school! So I am very empathetic when it comes to their desires to fill the days with activities and ice cream!

Yesterday afternoon, as the temperature became bareable outside, we took a walk around the block and then to our local children’s petting zoo, complete with some of those kid friendly blown up trampoline structures. Not exactly an action packed afternoon, but the kids were satisfied, especially after the popsicles……phew!

Sometimes I look at photos of exotic Mediterranean destinations and think, wow! But truthfully we live in a very interesting location ourselves, complete with cobblestone streets and a very rich history.

While we actually live in a city that was destroyed by two major earthquakes hundreds of years ago, many old structures have survived and many have been renovated, like this one.

And then there are all kinds of interesting things to look at, like this shell of an old building that was actually renovated and left as is to wonder in and ponder the past!

That’s all for now, gotta go get outside once again with the kiddos, but thought you’d enjoy a little glimpe of our life here in the Galil, Northern Israel!

    Dear Sara,
I agree with you, these places are so fascinating and rich in history, stories, thing happened, people’s life. They have a deep worth.
I’m not a traveler, I feel good here, in my home, with my dears and my things, but if there is a place that I really want to visit, this place is Israel.
Your picture are so tender, and recall me Sicily, my homeland.
Thanks to let us to see these photos!!
I wish you a good summer,
    xxx Rosi

Your pictures are beautiful and make me feel bittersweet. I was lucky enough to go on a Birthright trip during college and 2.5 weeks just wasn’t enough time in such a wonderful place. I am so glad to have found your blog so that I can both revel in those memories and enjoy crafts and tips from another Jewish mom (I’m not so creative). I can hardly wait to share the beauty of Israel with my little girl.

Wow Emilie, thats so very touching, thanks so much for sharing! Please do tell your friends about my site, and try to come back for a visit soon! I am at the very moment working on an education center that will host many busloads of girls who come to visit via Birthright, and so glad to hear you took advantage of the amazing opportunity!
