Purim starts on Wednesday night, and on Thursday we will be giving the traditional gift baskets called mishloach manot. But since the holiday is celebrated a few days early in school, today is actually costume dress up day, which also includes the giving of Purim baskets to teachers.
While I usually do something really creative, this year I was seriously behind with the costumes, and needed something quick yet cute. Fortunately I found some of these watering can baskets, which I think is a perfect symbol for a teacher! And the tallish shape makes filling the basket easy, especially if you’d like to included a bottle of wine, which can be problematic in some baskets.
I’ll admit, I had thought of making some tissue paper flowers to fill the watering can, but I didn’t even have time for that, and fortunately had some stuffed paper hearts and super simple cupcake liner flowers on hand to simply stick into the basket, phew! And now dear friends I must go grab a few hours of sleep, as while I hate to admit it, I really was up all night long finishing off those costumes! Stay tuned for photos, coming up soon.
