The secret to making baskets that hold their shape is using a crochet hook that would normally be too small.

For worsted weight yarn that calls for a 5mm hook, I used a 3mm hook, got it? So use a hook that is two sizes down, and yes it makes the crocheting a bit more difficult, but since its a tiny project, the extra effort is worth it!

Large Dollhouse Crocheted Nesting Basket With Handles Pattern
Basket Dimensions: 7.5cm diameter, 4cm high
Round Base:
Round 1: magic ring, 6sc into ring
Round 2: ch1, 2sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with slip stitch
Round 3: ch 1 1 sc, 2sc in next stitch, around,join to first sc with slip stitch
Round 4: ch1, 1sc 1sc 2sc, around, join to first sc with slip stitch
Round 5: ch 1. 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 2sc around, join to first sc with slip stitch

Sides:
Round 6: ch2, hdc in back loop of round 5, join to first hdc with slip stitch

Round 7: ch2, hdc around, join to first hdc with slip stitch

Round 8: ch2, hdc around, join to first hdc with slip stitch

Round 9: ch2, hdc around, join to first hdc with slip stitch

Round 10: figure out placement of handles and mark with a stitch marker
Handles are made from ch9, over a gap of three stitches, sc around, except in two opposite 3sc spots where handle will be.

Round 11: Final round:slip stitch around. If you are using very fine yarn you can sc around, but make sure handles don't end up too thick.

Basket Dimensions:6cm diameter, 3cm high

For Round Base:
Follow pattern for large basket, above, stop at round 4

Basket Sides: Follow pattern for large basket, just one round less of hdc rounds
