Cupcake liner flowers are so simple to make with great results, and when I realized that I could use them to make the decorative cacti in my home bloom I was just so very excited! Blooming cacti were part of my Shavuot decorations, and back then I did share my blooming cactus craft with cupcake liner flowers, using plastic pencil holder cacti, but I never got around to sharing with you this blooming cactus Ikea hack. It is true, cacti bloom in the Spring, but very shortly it will be Spring in the Southern Hemisphere, so I'm just on time with this post, right?
And just by the way, only the two green cacti are from Ikea, the 3rd of the set, still available at Ikea, got broken. It is true, maybe the cacti trend in home decor is over, but the blooming cacti trend might just be taking off for the crafters among us, so not to worry! (I actually made some tall recycled cardboard cacti using these same blooms that are fabulous, and will share soon….)

You'll Need:
- one set of Ikea ceramic cacti
- cupcake liners in two sizes, both colored and white, or whatever you like, experiment!
- cupcake liner flowers tutorial
- tape, or double sided tape
How To:
- Self explanatory, but note that the flowers shown in the tutorial are more like chrysanthemums. The flowers shown here are 6 petaled, so cut your cupcake liners accordingly.
- Attach your flowers to the tops of the cacti with a piece of double sided tape or regular tape folded back on itself.
- Consider making tiny tiny flowers and forming a ring of them on the top of the barrel cactus, if you so desire!
