A Visit To Sharp Park Beach In Pacifica, CA On A Foggy Summer Day

On our third visit to Pacifica, CA this August, the weather was indeed foggy much of the time, but knowing that to be the case we enjoyed it just the same! Take a look at my sunny photos of Sharp Park Beach or my post about Esplanade Beach, Pacifica to enjoy the stunning coast without all the fog, but if you do plan a visit be prepared with sweatshirts and such, and visit the beach fully clothed! We just love Pacifica for its proximity to SFO, the amazing hikes and stunning coastline, and the fact that it is a truly undeveloped gem, without any of the fancy touches one might expect in such a location, which mystifies me and yet makes me very happy! Shall we take a walk along Sharp Park Beach? Let’s go!

The accessible trail along the beach is perfect for strollers and bikes, and does attract many walkers and runners on the weekend.

The southern end of the beach, with Mori Point above is my favorite spot.

Ice plant, is not native, and invasive I just read, but it sure does look amazing in its varying shades of green and rust.

See the kite being flown from Mori Point?

Anyone know why this Yeshiva boy is so very happy? Because dear readers where in the Northern Hemisphere can one go to the beach in August and have it all to yourself? And the answer is, Pacifica, California!
