The sun is setting on the holiday of Succot, and right now as I type this we are celebrating Hoshanna Raba, the last day of the Jewish holiday of Succot, and a very very meaningful and prayer filled day. Many stay up all night, others, like the men in my family rise at around 2:30 am for the prayer service until morning in the synagogue. Woman who can attend these prayer services of course might like to be there as well, but most of us have lots of preparations to do at home, in addition to caring for children, so our prayers are done in the succah with whatever time is available. Because friends, another holiday, Simchat Torah is happening tomorrow night, here in Israel, meaning we are saying goodbye to the succah, boy did that whiz by! Elsewhere in the world Simchat Torah is celebrated the following day, preceded by Shemini Atzeret, and you can look that up if you are curious.
Ah yes, but this post is about the fabulous sunsets we enjoyed this summer in Pacifica, California, (check out that link to all my previous posts about this amazing spot) enjoy!

Above: Looking north, with a view of the Marin headlands (I think?) and also Mount Tamalpais?
