When I figured out how to make a simple origami pears centerpiece with toile paper and some metallic gold accordion folded leaves I was thrilled! Truly, as far as crafted centerpieces go this is so very quick, and has a wonderful combination of elegance and creativity that is just perfect. If you prefer apples to pears, simply glue the stem and leaf on the other of the origami balloon! So friends, get yourself some elegant patterned paper that goes with your decor, and get folding! Even just a few is great, or smaller ones to use as place cards could also be precious, so learn how to fold these and a whole world or origami fruit options becomes possible. (And yes, kids about 8 or 9 plus can fold these too, and will love to learn.) Okay, lets make some toile patterned origami pears!

Supplies For Toile Patterned Origami Pears:
• toile patterned paper, mine is 36″ x 36″ which make pears that are inches high.
• gold metallic wrapping paper or any lightweight paper
• how to fold an origami pear tutorial
• how to fold an accordion fold leaf tutorial
• a hot glue gun or high tack craft glue
• toothpicks
How To Make Toile Patterned Origami Pears:
- Fold pears according to tutorial in link above.
- Fold leaves according to tutorial above. You can alway make leaves smaller, so go bigger at first.
- Wrap a strip of gold paper around a toothpick and fold the top over and glue. This should err on the sloppy side, and stem can be made by just rolling the paper without the toothpick if you prefer.
- Adhere stem to pear by placing it in opening and adding hot glue around the opening. Adhere leaf to stem and also to pear at base if your leaf is large and sits on the low side.
- Now go make a bushel!

I hope you’ve enjoyed learning how to make this wonderful centerpiece, now go and do it. And yes, this is perfect for making multiples for a special occasion or event, and the base can be an actual cake plate or a dinner plate hot glued to an upside down bowl!
