For many of us, there are still plenty of plastic bags of all kinds floating around in our lives, so do make an effort to use them for crafting! The bags seen here are light weight bags from the grocery or vegetable store and the perfect weight for making “plarn” or plastic bag yarn, which I’ve been making for years, and it is truly a great project to do with kids, especially youngs boys I might add that love the doing aspect of it. Bags with holes are fine, the main thing is that you’ll need quite a few, meaning at least twenty or so to make anything substantial, or in the case with these balls, to make pom poms. To make large dense pom poms you’ll need balls of plastic bag yarn that are just a bit smaller than the size of the pom pom you’d like to make, though loose pom poms and gift toppers can be made with just a few bags, you decide! You’ll Need;
- lots of plastic bags in a nice range of colors plus good scissors, and kids like to hold the ball together with a rubber band.
