Purple Heart, which is a variety of Wandering Jew, looks fabulous when paired with colorful Lantana, don’t you think? I pass this lovely little planter ( built in to the top of an old stone wall) located on a historic cobblestone lane that I walk down each week on my way to do the grocery shopping. I finally passed by with my camera on me, so of course I just had to share it with you!

And I just realized that I’m going to the same thing in my container garden, as I already have lots of yellow Lantana in bloom and wanted to add something new to some of the adjacent pots….here’s my answer, yippee! And, lucky for us, Purple Heart is one of the those plants that is simple to propogate—simply stick cuttings in water to root them, or stick them right into the soil! And since Purple Heart tends to get leggy and looks best when it’s fairly tightly pruned, you’ll have lots of cuttings to share or fill some more pots! Oh, and purple heart also has tiny pink blooms, adding to it’s charms!
