Rosh HaShana Craft — Golden Apple Fall Bunting

Rosh HaShana Apple Garland on chair

Here’s a super simple bunting idea for fall, that would also be great for Rosh HaShana. A craft garland that goes with casual or elegant decor by virtue of it’s metallic elements. And while I just love the idea of decorating the back of chairs at your table, this would of course look great anywhere. If you’d like to create this entire artsy look, tear up some old sheets into strips and tie them onto the back of the chair as a fun base for your garland! I never quite got around to showing you this idea for chair backs, though I can tell you now, it looked great for my daughter’s birthday party and we just left them on— it always looks like a party is about to happen!

Rosh HaShana Craft Golden Apple Garland

You’ll Need:

  • heavy weight gold paper or cardboard, mine is gold on both sides
  • wooden beads
  • plastic silver flower trim, sold by the length at my local craft store
  • hemp string
  • a hole punch

How To: Cut out apples, punch holes in either side and string with a fun assortment of findings or something similar to what you see here. A fun project for all ages, and little ones can certainly help with the stringing! And by the way, this is certainly an example of a decoration that you can make for Rosh HaShana and then use in your succah!

Love the chair back decorations! Too bad that it always rains over here during Sukkot. That is one part that I really miss about living in Israel.

Thanks Ariella! So why not do it for Rosh HaShana indoors? I posted the idea of using Ice cream container lid plastic to make crafting shapes a while back, one could certainly make a waterproof bunting just like this one!
