I fell into caring for orchids and bringing them to re-bloom every year by accident actually, thanks to a friend of my husband who decided that I should run an orchid sanctuary, despite knowing nothing about orchids! That was a good five years ago, and now with roughly 20 orchid plants in my care, and loads of experience, waiting for the orchids to re-bloom and enjoying them in bloom is truly wonderful!

Top Tips For Orchid Re-Bloom:
• Orchids like humidity, I give mine a spray of water every morning from a spray bottle as I wait for the kettle to boil.
• In order to re-bloom, orchids need plenty of light, so move to a bright but not sunny location
• Orchids don’t have high water needs, but in addition to misting them 6 days a week, I take them to the sink to water them every week in the summer and every two weeks in the winter.
• Once the blooms have fallen off the stalk or are spent, trim the flower stalk at its base.
• Talkk to your orchids and tell them how beautiful they are!
• I have not used orchid fertilizer, but that can certainly help!
• Ordhids stay in bloom for a few months, so generally only bloom once a yea, though some of mine have bloomed twice in a year.

Enjoy raising orchids, or consider creating a sanctuary like mine that takes neglected orchids and brings them back to the examples seen here!
