Can you make the playdough with whole wheat flour? Do you have any other craft ideas for 2 and 3 year olds?
    Thanks

When doing a craft activity together, I find I can more easily cherish the time spent with my children because together we are focused on something other than ourselves. So it’s not just the product…but also the process of course which is the gift! Thanks for sharing so many wonderful opportunities to bond with our children and for immeasurable goodness you help generate.

Hi..I want to make a picture frame with the broken glass from my son’s wedding. Do you have any ideas?? Thanks Bobbie

  10. Sara Rivka Avatar

Hi Bobbie, First of all, Mazel Tov on your son’s wedding and second of all, proceed with care! I personally have not done
a project with broken glass, but whatever you do, make sure to wear safety goggles if you’ll be breaking the glass into smaller pieces.
As far as using the glass pieces for an art project, if they are flat you could glue them to a frame and then grout between them, but I personally
would think you’d risk getting cut, it might not be worth the effort, as if the glass is clear I don’t know if the results will be so remarkable. I saw a project where colored glass pieces were glued to a plexiglass frame, but again I just don’t know whether clear glass will look so interesting.
I think you need to do something with the glass pieces and then apply that to a frame: for example you could make some interesting tiles from fimo clay and embed some of the glass pieces into these tiles, such that the sharp edges would be covered. After baking, glue the tiles to a frame…Or you could buy stained glass tape to cover the edges of each piece and then glue the pieces onto the frame. If you’re really crafty you could solder the pieces together and make some sort of interesting mobile! Good luck and let me know what you decide to do!

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog about your blog. Cool stuff. I am featuring two of your projects. However, I don’t know how to link back to the specific sites. If you would like me to do that and know how, please leave me a message at michellejohnnie@gmail.com thanks!

  12. Sara Rivka Avatar

    Hi Michelle,
I would very much appreciate a link back to my site, it’s really important infact!
You can do it in the text composer, by highlighting the word and then clicking on the little button (along the top usually) that looks like a chain link.
A box should then pop up for you to enter the general URL (http://www.creativejewishmom.com) or you can enter the URL of the specific projects.
I’ll check your blog now to see which ones they are and send you the URLs.
You should have such a button, it exists even for example in your gmail when you go to write an email.
And just for your knowledge, you probably have an option to make a photo into a link as well, when you upload a photo, there
is usually a box to click that says custom, and there you can type in a link.
Thanks so much and good luck!

I have to tell you that in the few short days since I discovered this site, I’ve become totally engrossed. I love every item you’ve added and have started to many of them that I may never finish!!! I have the Starburst blanket going – just 20 finished squares so far, I have paper, felt and soda bottle flowers in every stage, from small to large and from just started to half done to almost finished! In short,I’ve become your biggest fan and I just wanted to let you know. Keep up the great work and let us see as many photos of your lovely country as you have time for!!

Have you ever tried to crochet a Chuppah?
I would love to have a pattern for a Chuppah?
Is there a pattern for a crochet Chuppah

  23. Sara Rivka Avatar

Hi Janet, Sounds like a wonderful idea, and cant say Ive seen one! I would recommend making a chuppah with a fabric base and then sewing crocheted portions onto the base for the sturdiest and most sane way to go about such a project. And that way several people could work on it together and not to mention that you can crochet little flowers here and there without having to lug large pieces around. I have seen a wonderful wedding dress made from crocheted doilies appliqued to fabric, here:http://www.100layercake.com/blog/2010/05/27/california-mountain-elopement/ which also shows that the ground color and the doilies in different colors is a lovely effect. A chuppah certainly does not have to be white, the traditional style chuppah that is used in our community is actually dark blue with embroidery in a range of colors and generally gold fringe, so go to town! A light blue background could be truly gorgeous, or even stripes of colors with doilies in one color. Please do let me know if you decide to go ahead with the project, and it it is something that youd like to be used again and again, I could certainly get lots of crocheters to crochet little doilies for you!
    all the best!

Thank you for your blog, I love it. I am trying to get back to my Hebrew roots. My father was a child on the kinder transport to the uk. He was to young to understand and was adopted. It’s strange that he, myself and two of my brothers always related to being of Jewish origin. I think it’s in the blood. I want to learn about food, recipes and traditions plus I am learning Hebrew, Shalom. Lorraine

  33. Sara Rivka Avatar

Hi Lorraine, so glad you are enjoying my blog, and so interested to hear your story! As far as being in the blood, well actually the connection to being Jewish comes from the soul. Interestingly enough, there are also many who were not born Jewish but still discover that deep soul connection and end up converting to Judaism, I know many such people! All the very best with your journey, if you ever have any questions just drop me a line.

Hi! i am looking into hanukkah board games and I was curious if you had any suggestions?

  38. Sara Rivka Avatar

    Hi Laura,
That is a good question! The only game specific really to chanukah that we have had was some dominos with chanukah theme, but it wasnt all that exciting. We also have had a trivia card game, again nothing out of the ordinary. Since one of the symbols of chanukah is the dreidel, here in Israel the holiday becomes also about tops in general, and the stores sell many kinds, both traditional with a string and battery operated ones with lights, music, etc. So we have a whole bunch of different kinds of tops that we play with, and one night I gift some more. We turn off the lights and start them all up, its a nice moment!

I was doing some industry benchmarking for a client of mine when I came across your website.
I noticed a few technical errors which correspond with a drop of website traffic over the last 6-8 months which I thought I would bring to your attention.
I was analyzing your site and it seems that some of your website rankings have dropped. It is due to non optimized techniques/errors And Google guidelines not being followed properly.

    • Your most common keywords are not appearing in one or more of the meta-tags above. Your primary keywords should appear in your Meta.

    Sara Rivka,
This may seem like a strange question. In the post of April 16, 2021 there is a picture of a chuppah with some people under it. I am wondering if it was just a stock photo or if you actually know the people at that wedding. Do you know the name of the woman who is facing us in the left side of the photo? She is wearing a chin length wavy-ish sheitel and a pinkish gown and she looks lovely. Is it possible that it is Mrs. Pessie Rosen? She is an acquaintance of mine in NYC and I know her son got married in Israel a few years ago.
I enjoy seeing all of the crafts and art that you do but I can’t imagine how you find the time to do it all.

    Sara Rivka –
Shalom. I love your blog and creative concepts. I would like to discuss the possibility of featuring your artwork on greeting cards here in the US. I am particularly interested in using your beautiful quilled menorah and possibly your striped dreidels painted on cereal boxes. Please let me know if you are interested in collaborating with me. My line of cards is called indelible ink. We have featured the artwork of Judaic artists for over two decades. Thanks. I look forward to hearing from you.

It’s disappointing that after refusing to release prisoners in exchange for the hostages and waging an all out war, the end result is going to be exchanging prisoners for hostages but unfortunately many haven’t survived by now. Why didn’t they do it on day one
