Tonight is the beginning of Rosh HaShana, the Jewish New Year! While the holiday has its serious side, it is also a joyful occasion, celebrated with many traditional foods and customs. Rosh Hashana actually lasts two days, and this year it runs into Shabbos, meaning we'll be spending three lovely days with friends and family reflecting on the past year as well as looking forward to the coming year and all that it will bring!
Amongst festive meals and other activities, we will listen to the blowing of the Shofar on Thursday and Friday mornings and do our very best to only think good thoughts and be patient and loving with our children, as our actions on these days have a great influence on our entire year!
It's so hard to believe, another year has gone by! Where exactly does the time go? I'm happy to say that time well spent lasts for eternity, so if we've spent our year doing good things then certainly there are no regrets! I wish you all a very sweet new year, a new year blessed with good health and happiness, and a productive and creative new year. I'm looking forward to spending the coming year here with you all, living, learning and creating!
See you back here on Saturday night with Craft Schooling Sunday, and then it's time for some serious Succah decorating projects, starting on Monday. I can't wait!
