Save Now and Craft Later: A List of Recyclables To Keep On Hand!

Recyclables For Crafting

Dear Readers, Chanukah crafting is just around the corner and so I thought I’d take a moment to let you know what items you might want to start saving, if you haven’t been already! Mind you, I do not guarantee that I’ll be using all of the items above, but there’s a good chance, (with the exception of the wine corks, which I’ll be working with probably after Chanukah) so it certainly pays to start saving now!

And yes, those are pumpkin seeds from “dlat” , Israeli pumpkin, a sign that I have reached an all new level of re-use! As I was cleaning a piece of pumpkin of its seeds I thought to myself “this is something I really should be saving.” (By the way, my kids just love my simple and healthy pumpkin soup recipe here, you’ll love it too!) And then, one of my readers dropped by Craft Schooling Sunday with a fun little kid’s craft project using pumpkin seeds, immediate confirmation that my instincts were correct! Such is the life of an obsessed crafter with a audience of eager readers!

And by the way, add to your list of things to save, those throw away aluminum pans….just wash them out and save them, as that heavy aluminum is great for crafting!

My husband started looking at me in a funny way as I keep grabbing things before they hit the trash can these days. You and your great ideas are to blame. Now my stash is overflowing (due to small spaces rather than much stuff) so I need to get to work! Todays project, painting those egg shells. Hope little boys’ fingers can be delicate.

Hi Moriyah, youve got me laughing, since that is exactly the scene at my house….only now the husband is used to it, and recently even got used to the egg shell saving.
The egg shells are great for little boys, they love breaking them and really the more broken the better! By the way, we sort of accidently bought the Molett jeans toilet paper and the inside of the tubes are blue, I struck gold! All the best, and keep in touch!

We do this too – sometimes the recyclables take over the house a bit too much, but it’s too hard to throw it away, even recycling it, because I can’t help thinking of all the things I, or the children, can make with every little scrap!
