Slice Of Life: The Almond Trees This Year On Tu B’Shevat…..

Tu B'Shevat Almond Tree In Israel

I would love to show you how beautiful the old almond trees look when they’re in bloom, usually just around Tu B’Shevat, but this year they are running a bit late, and probably won’t be showing their delicate pink blooms for another few weeks! So I thought I show you a few photos of how the trees look now (well, actually yesterday on our way to the store…..)

Tu B'Shevat Almond Trees Bare In Israel

The Jewish calender is a lunar one, and instead of having a leap year with an extra day added, we have leap years in which an extra month is added! This year happens to be one of those years, which means that in terms of the weather, Tu B’Shevat falls early this year and our almond trees need a few more weeks. I hope to take photos then to share with you!

Have a wonderful holiday enjoying the fruits of Eretz Yisrael and thinking about how wonderful trees are! And hey, you could even take a walk and hug some trees, sounds fun to me! Tu B’Shevat Sameach!

Love your blog, it’s great to see so many fun Israel-focused crafts – and with materials we can get here too!
Not too many almond trees blooming here yet (I did see one photo from near Modiin but that’s it) but here’s a beautiful Almond Blossom themed etsy treasury from a fellow Israeli etsyian :).
