With the Jewish holiday of Shavuot coming up on Thursday night, now is the time for some quick crafts, so delve into how to mkae a cute sign for Shavuot Kids Craft now, and make some simple yet fun additions to your holiday! This little stand up sign was made by a sweet third grade boy, who had to be convinced not to glue it to the vase of flowers we made! I made a little stand on the back with cereal box cardboard and everyone was happy! So get out the simple craft supplies and get busy, or help the kids get busy making fun signs! Keep reading for a bunch of ideas for how to elaborate on this idea!

You’ll Need:

• white cardboard, this is a upcycled button down shirt insert, or any light weight cardboard usually found in cereal boxes, product boxes, cosmetics etc.

• colored pencils and markers

• optional: tiny flowers, sequins, glitter foam, gold paper and high tack craft glue

How To:

This was made on a piece of cardboard, and then I glued a little stand to the back, but since you are planning ahead, why not just fold a piece of cardboard in half so it can stand up itself as is?

• Consider making the luchot habrit from a different material and gluing it on the sign, or even make the mountain almost as high as the card and glue the luchot such that the are sitting above the sign.

• Make some flowers separately, glue a tiny piece of foam or corrugated cardboard to the back and then adhere to sign such that flowers have dimension. You can of course do this with the luchot as well, or even with the mountain itself!

Kids don’t do nearly enough drawing these days, and making decorations for the holiday is a great way to get them motivated and excited!
