How To Make Loopy Magazine Page Flowers

I just love recycling magazine pages to make all kinds of crafts, and magazine page flowers are a recent favorite! With the Jewish holiday of Shavuot coming up shortly, learning how to make loopy magazine page flowers is just the thing to do right now! It is truly simple, works even with not colorful magazine pages, and all you need is a few flowers to make a fun bouquet, especially if you mix the loopy magazine page flower with a simple crepe paper peonie as seen in this photo! Okay, lets do it!

Supplies For Loopy Magazine Page Flowers:

• magazine pages

• floral wire or skewer

• aluminum foil or masking tape, to make a ball

• small piece of crepe paper for center, green crepe paper for leaves

• hot glue, glue stick

Instructions For Loopy Magazine Page Flower:

  1. Find magazine pages in colors you love, or even all white pages, experiment!
  2. Make a ball with aluminum foil, insert floral wire/stem into ball, and cover with a small piece of crepe paper, and secure with hot glue.
  3. Fold magazine page in half lengthwise, and adhere one layer to next at bottom with strip of glue, using a glue stick
  4. Cut fringe along length, leaving about 1/2″ at bottom.
  5. Using hot glue, secure bottom of fringe to base of ball, and wrap around base of ball, securing with hot glue as you go.
  6. Gently fold loopy petals back from ball, if needed to open flower.
  7. That is it! Now use this simple idea to make flowers in all sizes and with shorter petals.
