How To Make A My Favorite Things Birthday Cake In A Pinch

Want to make a very very memorable birthday cake for a two year old? I’d recommend learning how to make a my favorite things birthday cake in a pinch, as this one, while not necessarily the most amazing design ever was truly memorable, and this sweet little boy is still talking about it weeks later! And yes, if you are paying attention, I did borrow the little men with kippas climbing the poles from an upsherin/chalaka cake I made for a three year old a few months ago, but which two year old will remember that? i had planned to decorate the cake with more items from the my favorite things birthday wall decor, but decided to keep it simple, and honestly it was just before simchat torah and I was very pressed for time. Even taking these photos was somehow a miracle! Okay, lets delve into this unforgettable (apparently!) birthday cake for a two year old.

You’ll Need:

• wooden skewers

• round felt pre-cut circles

• some my favorite things items, see link to post in paragraph above

• little plastic men, with kippas that you added using round felt pieces

As you can see from the above photo, he just love the men with the kippas, and i was so happy to capture him pointing at one of them!

Truly, you could combine just about anything with these little men climbing the poles and the cake will be a success. They were made with little slits at the bottom as they are for sitting on the edge of a cup and holding a straw or a flower or plant cutting!

Get creative with your cakes and most importantly include things that are meaningful to the child!
