With the Jewish holiday of Shavuos coming on Thursday night, now is the time to learn how to make the cutest bouquet ever with magazine page flowers! I did this project with my groups of third grade boys, and the results were truly fantastic. It is true, there was lots of time involved on my part, as I do not let third graders use a hot glue gun, and the assembly is entirely dependent on hot glue, but it was well worth it! And assuming you are not a teacher, but a parent or grandparent or caregiver who may only be doing this with a few kids, this is truly a keeper, and it is so much fun to see how the different magazine pages look once transformed into flowers. Keep on reading to see a nice selection of bouquets, as well as complete instructions.

Supplies For Magazine Page Flowers:
• magazine pages
• a glue stick and a hot glue gun, good scissors
• floral crepe paper, light green and dark green, recommended though green paper can work as well (regular crepe paper will not work as it does not have the strength)
• wire flower stems or skewers
How To Make Magazine Page Flowers:
First take a look at my How To Make Mini Magazine Page Flowers tutorial.
Flowers are made by folding magazine pages in half lengthwise, and then cutting fringe. Most of the flowers here were made by dividing the magazine page in two, lengthwise, gluing those two pieces together, then folding the strip in half, and cutting a fringe. The flowers can be fluffed up a bit, petals can be folded down if desired, or you can leave the flower as is.
Larger flowers can be made with two magazine pages, and with the center created from half a magazine page, and the outside created from the entire magazine page. Meaning the center of the flower is made from half the height of paper as the outside. Also try making flowers from a height that is 2/3 the total height of the largest flower.
Experiment and see what happens!
After assembling the flowers with hot glue, add petals which hide the base of the flower. Glue petals to base of flower and wire, and where petals touch wire, twist them around the wire.
